Please note that I am having a long weekend off, so any orders placed now will not be posted out until Wednesday 4th August. Apologies for any inconvenience.

First of all let me stress that all the saws and saw guides I sell bear absolutely no resemblance to the cheap copies you can see in junk shops. These are top quality z-saws manufactured in Japan by the Okada Manufacturing Company, one of Japan's biggest saw manufacturers. Click here for an excerpt from a Japanese television programme about one of the saw guides. Unless your command of Japanese is much better than mine it probably won't mean a lot to you, but it does give a glimpse of the manufacturing process. I do not sell tools I do not use myself, and I have yet to find better saws than these. My customers seem to agree: a number have taken the trouble to send me favourable comments, and quite a few have placed repeat orders. Several of these saws were reviewed in issue 147 of Furniture And Cabinet Making Magazine when the editor said "I find their very thin kerfs particularly useful. They also appear to cut faster than Western saws and retain their sharpness for longer."

The prices on the following pages all include 17.5% VAT, and my postage and packing charges are between zero and £6.60 depending on the size of the order (details on each page). I currently use the PayPal shopping cart but if you would prefer to pay by cheque just e-mail me (contact details here) with details of your order and I will reserve stock and confirm all necessary details.

Sets of saws

Saw sets

Unsure which saws you are likely to need? Looking for a present for the woodworker in your life? I have a range of packages catering for different uses and price ranges, all offering excellent value and a real saving over my normal prices.

Individual saws and blades

If you do not need a full set of saws, then please read on. The most important factors to consider when choosing a saw are the materials you plan to cut and how you intend to cut them. Saws for cutting wood fall into 3 main types:

  • Crosscut (at 90° to the grain of the wood),
  • Rip cut (parallel to the grain of the wood),
  • Universal, for rip cutting, crosscutting and slant cutting.
different types of cut

Click here for a page containing links to a variety of demonstration videos, manuals and data sheets to help you find the right tool for your project. I am also happy to make recommendations if you have a specific enquiry: my e-mail address is on this page, but please give me as many details as possible.
My range of saws is listed below, grouped by their use. Once you have decided which category of saw you need you can see photographs and full specifications by clicking on the link to the relevant page.

Saw guides

Saw guides

We all aspire to the ability to mark our joints clearly and cut the various components with total accuracy so that the joints fit together cleanly and tightly. The reality, sadly, can be different: particularly when we are in a hurry. A saw guide, if set up correctly, allows accurate joints to be cut time after time. This page gives details of the range of guides I sell.

Saw rolls

I can now supply genuine Japanese leather saw rolls for protecting your saws while you carry them around. Click through to this page for details and my special prices.

I have now started to exhibit at wood shows from time to time. Further details are available here.

If you are new to woodworking or looking for project ideas, you might like to know that I have a bookshop (on Amazon.co.uk) in which you will find a range of about 50 useful books. There are books on techniques, for any beginners out there, as well as books of plans and projects for woodworkers of all levels.

And finally, if you are looking for any other tools (hand tools, power tools, automotive tools and even some of my competitors' saws, unfortunately!) I can thoroughly recommend the huge range available from www.toolbox.co.uk .
